Tiger有一个崭新的手电筒，
他跟kipper说：这可是最厉害的手电筒！
他照照猫头鹰，再照照河马，
还照了照kipper的脸，
跟他说：你真应该在黑暗中照照看，简直棒极了！
HesatinKippersbasket
andpulledtheblanketoverhishead.
Comeon！Wecanmakeitdarkunderhere！hesaid.
UndertheblanketwasoneofKippersstorybooks.
Thatsanotherthing！saidTiger.
Youcanreadunderthebedclotheswithatorchlikethis！
他坐进了Kipper的篮子里面，
把毯子盖在自己头上，
“快来！这样就变暗了。”他说。
毯子下面还有Kipper的一本故事书，
“那是另一件事，”Tiger说：“你还可以像这样，用手电筒在被子里看书哦。
Kipperbegantoread.
Deepinthemiddleofthedark，darkwood，
therelivedahorrible，horrendous，terrible，tremendous...
Thatsit！shoutedTiger，jumpingup.
Wellcampinthewoodstonight！
Itllbereally，REALLYdarkinthewoods.
ShallIbringmybook？saidKipper.
Kipper开始读了：
在漆黑的丛林深处，
有一只可怕的恐怖的.....
突然tiger大叫：哈，我知道了，
今晚我们就去森林中野营吧！
那一定足够黑暗。Kipper说：
那我可以带上我的故事书吗？
horrendous[hrends]a.恐怖的;可怕的;惊人的
tremendous[trimends]a.巨大的;可怕的
Sotheytookthebookandsomebiscuitsandtheyputuptheirtentinthemiddleofthewoods，atthebottomofBigHill.
ButasitbegantogetdarkTigerbegantothinkthatperhapsitwasntsuchagoodideaafterall.
“Comeinsideandhaveabiscuit，saidKipper.
DoyouwantRabbitorBigOwl？
所以他们带着书和饼干出发了，
在大山脚下的丛林深处搭起了帐篷，
但是天开始变暗的时候，
Tiger又有点后悔了，
Kipper招呼他说：”进来吃块饼干，“
还跟他分享玩偶：”你想要小兔子还是猫头鹰？“
ButTigerdidntreply.
Hewaslookingnervouslyoutofthedoor.
Doyouthinkthereareanybears
inthesewoods？hewhispered.
但是Tiger没有回答，
他正紧张的看着帐篷外面，
轻声问Kipper：
你觉得森林里面会有熊吗？
No，Ishouldntthinkso，saidKipper.Hebegantoread.
Deepinthemiddleofthedark，
darkwood，therelivedahorrible...
ButTigerwasntready.HeaskedKippertositnexttothedoor，instead
ofhim.AndwhenKippertriedagaintoread，Tigergotupandzippedthe
doorshutaltogether.
Kipper说：我觉得应该没有吧。
然后他就开始读书了：在漆黑的森林中......
但是Tiger还没有准备好，
他让Kipper替自己坐在帐篷门边，
当Kipper再次开始读书的时候，
Tiger站了起来把帐篷的门全部都拉上了。
ButthethirdtimeKippertriedtoread，
fromsomewhereoutsidethetent，
therecamethemostterrible，tremendous，
horrible，horrendous，“SCREECH”
但是在Kipper第三次尝试读书的时候，
帐篷外的某处，
传来了极其恐怖的可怕的声音：screech.
screech[skrit]尖叫声
Whatwasthat？saidKipper.
Tigersaidnothing.
Letsgoandlook！whisperedKipper.
Sotheycreptoutofthetentandintothewoods，shiningTigerstorchaheadofthem.
Ithinkitcamefromsomewherenearhere，saidKipper.
Thetorchbeamlituptheenormous，greytrunkofanoldtree.
Thereinthemiddlewasadark，darkhole.
Kipper问Tiger：那是什么声音，
Tiger什么都没有说，
kipper提议说：”我们一起出去看看吧。“
于是他们一起爬出了帐篷，
并用tiger的手电筒照着前面，
Kipper说：”我觉得声音好像是从这附近传来的。“
所以他们拿手电筒照了一下老树干，
那里有一个幽深的洞。
crept[krept]爬出；creep的过去式
Suddenlyahugepairofyelloweyesblinkedopen，
andfromtheholecamethemostterrible，“SCREECH”
Theyshriekedandran，bumpingintoeachotherandsendingthetorchflying.Theyscrambledintothetentandlaytherepantinghard，
listening...
突然，在树洞深处，他们看到了一双*色的眼睛，
并传来了那恐怖的screech的声音，
他们吓得*飞魄散，转头就跑，
不小心都撞到了一块，
手电筒都被撞飞了，
他们跌跌撞撞的跑回帐篷里面，
躺在那气喘吁吁地仔细听着外面的声音。
shriek[rik]尖叫
bump[bmp]碰撞
scramble[skrmbl]v.爬;
pant[pnt]v.气喘;气喘吁吁
Ithinkitwasjustanowl，
whisperedKipper.Yes，it
wasjustasilly，oldowl.
Butbehindhim，theshadowof
somethingwasgrowingonthe
wallofthetent.
Somethingwithhorns.
”我觉得那就是一头猫头鹰，“
Kipper说道，”没错，那应该只是一只老猫头鹰。“
但是在他们身后，
有一个带角的影子赫然映在帐篷上。
Itsahorrible，horrendousmonster！squealedTiger.
Theshapeonthetentgrewandgrewtillitwasloomingabovethem.
Thenitslowlychangedintoashape
thatKipperhadseenbefore.
Tiger叫道：”我觉得那是一只可怕的怪兽。“
那个影子越变越大，
慢慢的他变成了Kipper熟悉的一个形状。
squeal[skwil]vi.发出长而尖锐的叫声
loom[lum]vi.隐约地出现;赫然耸现
Kippercreptbackoutofthetentandwalkedtowardsthetorchlight.
There，caughtinthebeam，wasalittlesnail.
Kipperpickedupthetorchand
letthesnailcrawlontohispaw.
Helookedatthesnailclosely.
Itshornscurledinandoutashetouchedthem.
Kipper爬出了帐篷，跑回手电筒那里，
那里赫然卧着一只小蜗牛，
Kipper捡起了手电筒，
让小蜗牛爬上他的脚掌，仔细的观察，
当触摸他的触角的时候，
触角会卷回去又伸出来。
Ivefoundthehorrible，horrendousmonster！LookTiger！
Tigerpeepedoutfromunderneaththeblanket.
Hesawthesnail.
Hesawitsshadow.
Hefeltsilly.
”Tiger你看，我找到那只恐怖的怪物了，“
Tiger探出头，躲在被子下，
看了看蜗牛，又看看他的影子，
觉得自己真傻。
ShallIreadthestorynow？
saidKipper.
Kipper说：我现在可以开始读故事了吧？
ButKipperneverdidgettoreadhisstory，
becausetheywenthometoTigers
house，wheretheyputupthetentinTigersbedroom...
..andTigergottoreaditinstead.
但是其实Kipper依然没有读，
因为他们回到了Tiger的家，
在他的卧室搭起了帐篷，
而这次轮到Tiger读故事了。
